Odor Control and Vac Truck Scrubbers
Envent
engineers are experts in designing, installing, and maintaining vapor
and odor control systems. Our company provides a variety of permitted
systems including thermal oxidizers, liquid
scrubbers, internal combustion engines, and carbon
scrubbers for pipeline and vacuum-truck vapor controls. Envent's
systems feature state-of-the-art components and every possible safety
enhancement.
Our systems are 99.9+% efficient - easily achieving the Benzene NESHAP standards. Our systems are constructed with the Best Available Control Technology (BACT). All systems have been HazOp'd and MOC'd.

How much vapor (lbs/hr) come from the exhaust
of a vacuum truck? When pumping raw gasoline the system will
emit 250-350 lbs per hour. When, pumping crude oil, the vacuum truck
will exhaust 50-150 lbs per hour. A high volume super sucker vacuum
type unit can emit 1000-1500 lbs per hour of gasoline vapors and 500-850
lbs per hour of crude oil vapors.

calculations based on case studies.
What are the best methods of controlling vacuum truck vapor
control? That depends on what you are pumping. We use liquid
scrubbers, oxidizers, and media filtration.

response options.
How
do you safely control vacuum truck vapors/odors? Ensure
you are dealing with a system that handles the flow, concentrations,
and has all necessary safety devices necessary to avoid a catastrophe.
Don't take this lightly.

specific safety information on controlling vacuum truck vapors.
Where are vacuum truck vapor controls required? As of January 2010, these vapors are controlled in Texas (TCEQ) pursuant to the MSS Regulations, California (SCAQMD, Bay Area AQMD, and certain other APCDs/AQMD's), New Jersey (expected May 2010). In reality, it is necessary in most facilities with limits on total emissions, as they may not be accounted for in the annual emissions estimates. These emissions may be substantial.
